Pure Love Vs Lust

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s often that we get lost in the whirlwind of expectations, societal norms, and an incessant need to appease others. Amidst this, I’ve often caught myself questioning the authenticity of our actions. Are we simply going through the motions, sacrificing our own happiness for the sake of others? It’s disturbing to think how some individuals toy with emotions as if they were a mere ball to be kicked around.

I found myself immersed in these thoughts aboard an Indigo flight from Mumbai to Amritsar. Seated in 39A, at the tail end of the plane, I was engrossed in a captivating read, "The Power of Habit". As the journey commenced, the casual chatter of the air hostesses beside me served as mere background noise. That was, until a muffled sob broke my concentration.

Leaning in, I discerned the heart-wrenching tale of an air hostess. She had recently ended things with her boyfriend. Yet, just the night before, she had discovered a chat with his ex on his phone. Confronted, he admitted his lingering feelings for her. I sat there, stunned. It baffled me how someone could entertain the thought of an ex while in a relationship. It felt like a brutal betrayal, not only to the relationship but to one's own self-respect.

Although I remained a silent observer, my heart ached to comfort her. I wished to tell her that her worth wasn't defined by a fleeting relationship. She had a promising career ahead of her. She deserved someone who'd cherish her during her lows and elevate her during her highs.

It made me ponder on the blurred lines between love and lust in today's society. Love, in its truest form, is pure and profound. It's that serene silence shared with your beloved, the comforting presence felt even without words. Lust, on the other hand, is transient. To gauge the depth of one's feelings, I believe one should introspect on their motivations. If all those intimate moments and conversations were to cease, would the bond still remain?

Actually life will start after sexual activities

In my contemplation, I've realized that life's essence truly begins post the initial allure of physical attraction. It's what transpires after that defines the true nature of a relationship. Love is a sanctuary where souls find solace, while lust is but a fleeting shadow.

In the end, it's imperative to differentiate between the two. Don't mistake lust for love. Cherish the purity of love and always seek its genuine embrace.
